The Meja Gonzalez 99 Boys enjoyed the afternoon at Dallas Cup on opening day as they escorted the Coritiba and Everton Supergroup teams onto the field. The boys had a behind the scenes tour of the locker rooms with the players and spent the rest of the day watching the games with their families. The team’s goal is to be playing in Dallas Cup themselves in the next 2 years, and their success this Spring season puts them on the right track. Representation at a prestigious event such as Dallas Cup is yet another indication that Meja Soccer Club has gained a presence in North Texas.

Congratulations to Coach Hunter and the girls for an impressive victory and accomplishment in winning the championship this past indoor season.  The team is just starting to form but has a very solid group of core players.  The team practices in Allen / Frisco area and will be working over the summer to build their roster for the upcoming Fall season.

Frisco, April 1, 2012: Tony Fonseca brings his 01, 04, and 06 teams and management staff to Meja Soccer Club as the latest contribution to the impressive growth of the Meja Frisco Division.  Frisco Director, Rick Hoover, will support Coach Fonseca and his staff as they train through the summer and prepare for the upcoming season beginning July 1^st.

“We are very excited to add Coach Fonseca and his teams to Meja.” said Monty Holloway, President of Meja Soccer Club. “Our Frisco Division is growing at an unprecedented pace and Tony is a great fit for what we are building there.”  Holloway added.

Frisco, April 1, 2012:  Marlon Williams officially joins Meja Soccer Club by committing his two teams to the club for the 2012/2013 season.  Coach Williams brings his players, management team, and impressive reputation to Meja Soccer Club to advance the Frisco Division as one of the fastest growing youth sports clubs in the area.

Coach Williams’ teams will play under the names Meja Williams 01 Girls and Meja Williams 02 Boys as part of Meja and train as one of several teams in the Meja Frisco Division.  Coach Williams will be support by the Meja Frisco Director, Rick Hoover.

Frisco, March 19, 2012: The Meja Hoover 99 Girls team (Meja Blue) was successful in winning the 2012 North Texas President’s Cup Championship by defeating the Texas Lightening 99G team 1-0.

“We are very excited for the Meja Hoover team.” said Monty Holloway, President of Meja Soccer Club. “Coach Hoover had the team playing at the top of their game throughout the tournament and particularly in the final against an impressive TX Lightening team.”  Holloway added.

The Meja Hoover 99 Girls team received a bid to play in the North Texas Presidents Cup because of their participation in the prestigious NTSSA Competitive League, Lake Highlands Girls Classic League, for the 2011-2012 season.

The Meja team will be representing Meja Soccer Club, North Texas, and Region III at the US Youth Regional Championship in North Carolina in June.  A championship win in NC will advance the team to the US Youth Nationals in California in July.

Richardson, February 3, 2012:  Meja SC is pleased to announce the addition of Meja Titans 99 and 00 Boys to the club as the latest addition to the Meja Richardson Division.  Director Dawn Simpson will support the team and work with Coach Vargas to capitalize on the resources available inside Meja.  The team will debut its first season as a Meja team in the Progressive Youth League in the Spring 2012.

“I am very excited to have Eduardo and his teams join Meja,” said Dawn Simpson, Director for Meja Richardson. “The team has established a solid reputation in the North Texas soccer community and will be a competitive factor for the next several years.”  Simpson added.

Meja Gonzalez 99 Boys Team huddled together in prayer before taking the field at the AYSES Winter Classic Tournament this past January. The choice to bring a spiritual element to the team was initiated by the boys, and the prayer was player-led.  The parents who witnessed the boys’ huddle were very proud of their son’s decision and proceeded to raise their camera phones to snap a genuine moment most of them will remember for quite some time.

Coach Oscar Gonzalez stated he always said his own silent-prayer before games but had never mentioned it to the boys. He was also very proud of his boys for recognizing the importance of something beyond the physical aspects of the game.

The 99 boys had a successful tournament on the field as well, advancing to the semi-final round where they lost by 1 goal. This team is very close and plans to develop together long term.

November 23, 2011 – Meja Soccer Club is pleased to announce a new relationship with an online fanwear company called Team Fan Apparel.  The agreement executed on October 1, 2011 allows teams inside Meja Soccer Club to provide a unique Team Store (links available on Meja’s home page) where products can be customized and purchased.  Each Team Store will be loaded with products like T-shirts, jackets, hoodies, rally towels, etc… which are able to be customized with jersey #’s, name, team name, etc… Each Team Store is pre-loaded with several examples to give buyers suggestions on the 1000+ ways any product can be customized.

The agreement between Meja Soccer Club and Team Fan Apparel also allows each Meja team to clip a portion of all product sales inside their respective Team Store and recognize the proceeds as a fundraiser.

“The Team Fan Apparel relationship is indicative of the types of resources we provide our coaches, parents, and players” said Monty Holloway, President of Meja Soccer Club.  “Not only can our parents go online and customize items to show their support for their team, our teams now have another easy way to raise fundraising dollars” added Holloway.
